·  What is the proper way to measure Driveline Assemblies?

Measure from the center to the center of the universal joints in either the collapsed or running position. Or you can also measure from the center of U-joint to center of the carrier bearing, if you are using a Midship Coupling Shaft.

·  Am I able to switch Bearing Caps?....What is the purpose of the Snap Rings?

No. Each bearing cap is precision machined to each journal with very close tolerances. They make look similiar but unfortunately they are not, you must use the exact same brand and type of bearing cap.

When a lot of people attempt to change the universal joint themselves, they forget to add the snap ring to keep the universal joint secure in the yoke. This is why people may be experiencing vibrations from your vehicle after changing the universal joint.
